Federal Government

We spend each summer in Montana where we have a television station.  Each morning I have breakfast with a group of “cowboys” at a local café.  I listen to them carry on about how they hate the federal government, the federal government is corrupt in every sense of the word and that Montana should either secede from the union or refuse to pay federal taxes that are used to operate America’s horrible, corrupt and senseless government.  I often speak when I probably should keep my mouth shut, but one fact seems to stump them.  For every dollar of taxes Montanans pay to the federal government the federal government returns $1.75.  Seems to me that’s a pretty good deal for Montana.
