Three years ago I was about to go out to dinner in Helena, Montana when I got a call from someone in Las Vegas who said that Steven Horsford would like to talk to me. I told that person I would cancel my dinner date and stay home. That was three years ago and I am still waiting on the call. Horsford is an arrogant ass. While I am prone to support Democrats I would never support him. In the last three years I have called in on several occasions to discuss local and national subjects. He has never returned my phone calls. If you send this blowhard to Congress you’ll never know he is there.

The Transportation Research Center combines research and outreach to make streets safer for both drivers and pedestrians. Students and staff work with regional agencies to improve traffic flow and partner with schools to promote safe driving and safer crosswalks.

Students from UNLV are among 20 university teams chosen from over 400 worldwide to participate in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013, a highly competitive contest that attracts colleges from around the world. Teams will design, build and operate solar-powered houses that are energy-efficient, affordable and attractive.

Hospitality and gaming companies from around the world look to UNLV’s International Gaming Institute for resources and training to help them succeed. UNLV has been working with its new Regional Development Authority to help create new business clusters for our region.  With support from the Hotel School, Engineering, Business and Fine Arts, UNLV is providing the resources and expertise to accelerate IT, technology based industries, biomedical innovation, renewable technologies and many other activities, supported by UNLV’s Office of Economic Development.
