"I’m Neal Smatresk, President of UNLV. Las Vegas is a city built on big dreams. Sometimes I’m afraid that we’ve
stopped being able to dream big. It’s time for us to look to the future. It’s time for us to dream again. Imagine Las Vegas as
the global hub of gaming, entertainment and hospitality. Imagine that we are an intellectual cradle of innovation
– a place where creativity and technology meet. If this is going to happen, it’s going to start at UNLV. We are dedicated to making
this a better place and we need your help."
Dr. Smatresk asks us to; Imagine Las Vegas as the global hub of gaming, entertainment and hospitality.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of reminds me of Rome. I offer this observation from the book, The Martyrdom of Man by William Winwood Reade
Industry is the only true source of wealth, and there was no industry in Rome. By day the Ostia road was crowded with carts and muleteers, carrying to the great city the silks and spices of the East, the marble of Asia Minor, the timber of the Atlas, the grain of Africa and Egypt; and the carts brought nothing out but loads of dung. That was their return cargo.
